FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions play Eastern New Mexico to 1-1 draw Joplin, Mo.. -- Dushan Gorechan (Wichita, Kan.) scored nearly 15 minutes into the second half to help pull Missouri Southern even and into a 1-1 tie with the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds in Southwest Soccer Conference action on a very windy and rainy Sunday afternoon (Oct. 15) at Hal Bodon Field. The Greyhounds jumped on top in the 42nd minute when Ryan McClanahan scored on what initially appeared to be a cross but found the back of the net. Gorechan's goal came in the 60th minute with the aid of an assist from Neil Stoessel (Papillion, Neb.). The Lions (3-9-3, 0-6-1 SSC) enjoyed a huge advantage in shot-attempts, out-shooting the Greyhounds 17-7 overall Stoessel was solid for the Lions by recording a team-high five shot-attempts in addition to the assist. The Greyhounds (4-9-3, 1-4-2 SSC) out-shot Southern 4-3 in the first half, but the Lions came roaring back to out-shoot ENMU 14-3 in the second half and the two overtime periods. Travis Haight (Sioux Falls, S.D.) made two stops for the Lions, while Leif Craddock recorded six saves for ENMU. The Lions stay at home for another SSC contest against Northeastern State Wednesday night (Oct. 18) at 7 p.m.
