Lions put four seniors on SSC All-Conference team

Richardson, Texas -- Seniors Neil Stoessel (Papillion, Neb.), Blake Wright (Conway, Ark.), Dushan Gorechan (Wichita, Kan.) and Jared Prater (Springfield, Mo.) were All-Southwest Soccer Conference selections, the league office announced today.  Stoessel and Wright were first-team choices, while Gorechan and Prater earned second-team selections.

This marks the third straight first-team all-conference nod for Stoessel.  He led the Lions this year in goals (3), shots (29) and shots-on-goal (14).

Wright earns first-team all-SSC honors for the second straight year after being a second-team performer the previous two seasons.  He has been a mainstay in the Lions' lineup since arriving on campus in 2004.  Wright has played in all 72 matches, with 71 starts and has been a solid defender for the Lions throughout his playing career.

Gorechan receives the all-conference second-team nod after scoring one goal and tying for the team-lead with two assists.

Prater is a second-team All-SSC choice and scored one goal on the year, which proved to be the game-winning tally in a 3-1 Lions' win at Northeastern State (10-24-07).

MSSU finished the year with a 4-10-2 overall record, with a 1-6-1 mark in the SSC.
