Lions fall 1-0 at Truman State

. -- Missouri Southern goalkeeper Jon Hansen (Wichita, Kan.) matched his season-high with eight saves, but the Lions failed to generate any offense in falling 1-0 to the Truman Bulldogs (Sept. 2) in Kirksville, Mo.

The Bulldogs' goal came in the 20th minute of the match as Dan Russell scored off a pass from Drew Pauk for the only goal of the match.

Southern (2-2) mustered only four shots as Truman (3-2) out-shot the Lions 21-4, with a 9-1 edge in shots-on-goal.

The corner kicks were even at 2-2.

Next up for the Lions is their Southwest Soccer Conference opener at home against Eastern New Mexico on Friday night (Sept. 7) at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Hal Bodon Field.
