FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE John Brown defeats Lions, 3-0 Siloam Springs, Ark.. -- The John Brown Golden Eagles scored three second half goals to gain a 3-0 victory over the visiting Missouri Southern Lions Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 19) in Siloam Springs, Ark. The match remained scoreless into the second half until JBU's Gabriel Duarte beat Hansen to the ball inside the box for the match's first goal. The Golden Eagles (2-3) then benefited from an own goal by the Lions in the 74th minute to go up 2-0. Akeem Grant rounded out the scoring for JBU with a tally in the 89th minute of play. MSSU (2-6-1, 0-3 SSC) will now take 10 days off before traveling to Wichita, Kan. for a non-conference matchup at Newman (Kan.) on Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
