FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions drop overtime heartbreaker to Texas A&M International in season-opener Tahlequah, Okla. -- Albert Escovar scored from 10 yards out in the box off a cross from Roy Hernandez in the 4th minute of the first overtime to lead the Texas A&M International Dustdevils to a 2-1 season-opening win over the Missouri Southern Lions Friday afternoon (Aug. 29) in Tahlequah, Okla. The match was scoreless until the 75th minute when the Lions jumped on the board on a goal from freshman Kevin Aubuchon from 15 yards out off an assist by Nate Evans. The Dustdevils then managed to tie the score in the 84th minute on a 30 yard free kick by Christian Salazar. Southern stayed close despite being out-shot 22-10 overall and 13-3 on-goal. The Dustdevils also enjoyed a 13-4 edge in corner kicks. Jon Hansen saved 10 shots for the Lions, while Luis Rincon stopped two for the Dustdevils. The Lions will remain in Tahlequah, Okla. to face the Truman Bulldogs on Sunday (Aug. 31) at 2 p.m.
