Lions and Greyhounds play to 0-0 tie

Portales, N.M. -- The Missouri Southern Lions and Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds finished in a 0-0, scoreless tie that was halted in the 80th minute due to darkness. 

The Lions (0-6-1, 0-1-1 SSC) were out-shot 13-7 overall, but neither squad was able to mount consistent offensive threats.  The Greyhounds held a slim, 3-2 edge in shots-on-goal.

Austin Whiles had a team-high three shots for Southern, while Emerson Rodrigues led the Greyhounds (1-1-2, 0-0-1 SSC) with a game-high six shot-attempts.

Jon Hansen recorded three saves for the Lions and ENMU's Peter Horak stopped two shots.

The Lions will continue Southwest Soccer Conference action on Sunday (Sept. 21) when they travel to Canyon, Texas to play West Texas A&M at 1 p.m.
