FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions welcome new recruit for 2008 Joplin, Mo.. -- Missouri Southern men's soccer coach Kiley Cirillo has announced the signing of West Plains standout Stuart Ziegler for the upcoming 2008 season. Ziegler led the West Plains Zizzers last season in goals (25), assists (17) and points (67). Ziegler's performance led to team success as West Plains recorded a 60-38-4 record during his four years, including a district championship and a third-place State finish in 2006. Ziegler is the school's all-time leader in goals (60), assists (32) and points (152). His 25 goals scored in 2007 also represents the highest single-season total in school history. He is a three-time all-conference pick, earning first-team honors as a senior. Ziegler was also a two-time first-team all-state selection and a three-time all-district honoree. Ziegler was also named to the Springfield News-Leader All-Ozarks second team as a junior and first-team as a senior. He was a participant in the Southwest Senior All-Star game and was a two-time all-region selection. Ziegler also performed well in the classroom, earning a spot on the Academic All-Ozark Conference team three times. |
