FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions add six newcomers for 2008 season Joplin, Mo.. -- Missouri Southern men's soccer coach Kiley Cirillo has announced the addition of six newcomers to the squad for the upcoming 2008 season, including Kevin Aubuchon, Sam Braverman, Greg Edmonds, Colton Henderson, Isai Ramirez Tello and Ryan Whiles. During his senior season, Aubuchon led the St. Mary's Dragons in goals and also served as team captain. He was the AAA conference player of the year and was a third-team all-metro selection. Aubuchon, a native of St. Louis, Mo., was also a first-team all-conference selection as a junior. He helped lead the Dragons to a conference title during his junior year. Braverman is from Sedalia, Mo. and helped take the Sedalia Tigers to a district championship during his senior season. Braverman was a three-time all-conference selection, earning first-team honors as a senior. He was a two-time all-district selection in soccer and earned all-district honors as a sophomore in track. Braverman also competed in tennis while at Sedalia. Edmonds comes to MSSU after competing for the Booker T. Washington Hornets. Edmonds, a Tulsa, Okla. native, helped his club team to a state runner-up finish and a Tulsa Soccer Club state championship. Henderson is a native of Atlanta, Ind. and competed two seasons for the Hamilton Heights Huskies of Cicero, Ind. Henderson earned all-conference honorable-mention honors and helped the Huskies advance to the Sectional round. He also played two years of Golf at Hamiltion Heights. Tello is from Sedalia, Mo. and was a two-time first-team all-conference selection at Sedalia HS and was a first-team all-district pick as a senior. Tello was also an all-region selection and was selected as the team's offensive MVP during his senior campaign. He is Sedalia's all-time leading scorer and was also the team's top scorer as a sophomore. Whiles, the younger brother of former MSSU men's soccer standout Austin Whiles, is a native of Overland Park, Kan. and helped the Olathe East Hawks compile a record of 56-3-1 during his varsity seasons. Whiles also helped the Hawks win a state championship in 2005, a Sunflower League Regional title in 2006 and a Sunflower League championship in 2007. He is a two-time first-team all-Sunflower League pick and earned earned second-team all-league honors in 2005. Whiles also was a first-team Regional and NE KS Regional selection along with being a second-team all-state and Kansas City Metro honoree in 2007. The Lions finished the 2007 campaign with a 4-10-2 overall record, with a 1-6-2 mark in the highly-competitive Southwest Soccer Conference.
