Lions' Goalkeeper Haight named SSC Defensive Player of the Week

Missouri Southern senior goalkeeper Travis Haight (Sioux Falls, S.D.) has been named the Southwest Soccer Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday (Sept.26).

Last week, Haight recorded two saves to help Missouri Southern upset Truman 1-0 in overtime last Friday (Sept. 22) and notch its first victory of the season.

Haight made the two stops while facing 13 shot-attempts from a Truman squad that finished 17-3-2 last season.

He is currently tops in the SSC in saves (45) and saves per game (6.43).

Haight also ranks second in the conference in save percentage (.750) and third in goals-against average (2.14).  Haight is the MSSU career leader in saves (379).
