Bentonville, Ark. - The Missouri Southern softball team dropped two games today in Bentonville, Ark. falling to East Central (Okla.) 7-6 and Arkansas-Monticello, 7-1.

Southern (3-7) scored two in the first, third and the seventh, but a five run first and a two run fifth for East Central lifted the Tigers over the Lions.

Southern got back-to-back homers from Angie Turner and Whitney Clute in the first inning, the third of the season for each. In the second game, The Lions picked up their lone run in the fourth when Brook Hurley led off with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. After a fly out, Megan Roark singled home Hurley. The Lions would load the bases in the inning, but couldn't capitalize.

Volkmann started and went 4.2 innings, allowing five earned runs, while Kelsey Williams pitched an inning and a third in relief, striking out two and surrendering just one hit.
