Warrensburg, Mo. -
The Missouri Southern softball team dropped both ends of a double-header today, falling twice at Missouri S&T, dropping game one 10-9 and game two 9-1.

The Lions (13-26) fell behind 6-0 after four innings in game one, but surged back with five runs in the fifth to cut the lead to one. Three errors led to the first two runs of the inning, before Kelli Bax unloaded for a three run bomb, scoring Megan Roark and Whitney Clute.

S&T (12-17) answered back with four in the bottom of the inning to go ahead 10-5.

Four more runs from the Lions in the seventh wouldn't be enough as the Lions came just short. Brooke Hurley and Andrea Childs both homered in the inning.

Childs and Bax both had three run homers in the game, while Childs scored twice. Childs, Roark, Hurley, Lauren Hasty and Natalie Nelson all had two hits each as the Lions banged out 13 hits in the game.

In game two, the Lions had four hits, while giving up 18 as Southern fell in six innings to the Lady Miners. Nelson had two hits in the game, while Clute and Volkmann had a hit each.

The Lions will be back in action this weekend when they play host to back-to-back conference double-headers, first hosting Emporia State on Friday and then Washburn on Saturday.
