FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri
Southern
softball coach Aron Potter will be inducted into the Culver Stockton
College Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend in ceremonies held on the
campus in Canton, Mo.
Potter is one of three individuals going into this year's class and joins former basketball player Kelly Winters Campbell and soccer player Matt Hacker. Potter, a 1998 CSC graduate and
native of Vandalia, Mo., was a four-year letterwinner in softball.
She was a three-time All-Heart of America Athletic Conference
selection, including Player of the Year in 1996 and a first team
pick in 1997. In addition, she was an All-Midwest Region first team
selection in 1996 and 1997. "I think it's a very humbling and great honor to have bestowed on me by such a great institution," she said "I knew I wanted to go to Culver Stockton since age 12 when I first stepped foot on the campus and fell in love with the school. To be inducted into their Hall of Fame is a testament to all of the great players and coaches that I had the privilege of playing with that helped make this day happen."
Potter will be honored at the
eighth annual Hall of Fame Banquet from 6-8 p.m. tonight in Meaders
Lounge inside the Gladys Crown Student Center on the Culver-Stockton
College campus. She will also be recognized before the Homecoming
football game with Graceland University on Saturday, Oct. 6. |
