FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Quincy, IL -- Senior libero Megan Norman (Stockton, Mo./NEO) set a school record for digs in a five-game match with 48 and the Missouri Southern Lions volleyball team swept the first two matches of the Quincy tournament today, defeating both Northwood (Michigan) and host Quincy University in five games. Southern split the first four games with Northwood, 30-23, 24-30, 34-32, 27-30, but won the decisive game five 16-14. The Lions were up 14-8 in game five, however, six-straight points from Northwood tied the game before kills from Tessa Woods (Joplin, Mo/Joplin HS) and Sarah Hoffmeister (Joplin, Mo./Joplin HS) put the match away.
