Ashley Hill Named MIAA Specialist of the Week

Overland Park, Kan. -- Missouri Southern junior Ashley Hill has been named the MIAA Specialist of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Hill, a 5-9 native of Blue Springs High School, is typically an outside hitter for the Lions, but she subbed in at Libero this past weekend at the Southwestern Oklahoma State Invitational for injured starter Kari Hammerbacher.

The Lions went 2-1 at the tournament with wins over Texas A&M Commerce and Southwestern Oklahoma. Hill had 32 digs in five games against Commerce and 34 in four games against SOSU. She added 21 against Cameron to average 6.21 digs per game over the weekend.

Hill and the Lions will play host to sixth ranked Truman State on Thursday, October 11 at 7 pm in Young Gymnasium. They will wrap up the week with a non conference matchup with 24th ranked West Florida on Saturday, October 13 at 6 pm.
