Hoffmeister named ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District

Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern senior outside hitter Sarah Hoffmeister has been named first team Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

CoSIDA, along with ESPN the Magazine conducts the Academic All-America program. Missouri Southern is in the College Division of district seven which consists of Division II, III and NAIA schools within the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming, as well as the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Hoffmeister, a native of Joplin, became just the sixth Lion to ever record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career at Southern. A three-time captain, Hoffmeister has been a four year starter for the Lions at outside hitter. Hoffmeister ranks second all-time at Southern in attack attempts and digs, while ranking seventh in kills and ninth in aces.

A four-time member of the MIAA Commissioner s Academic Honor Roll, Hoffmeister is a Biology major at Southern and a member of the MSSU Honors Program.

Hoffmeister's name now goes on the national ballot for Academic All-American.
