Kansas City, Mo. -- Missouri Southern senior outside hitter Sarah Hoffmeister, as well as senior middle hitter Ashley Wright and sophomore libero Kari Hammerbacher have been named Honorable Mention All-MIAA as voted on by the coaches of the league.

Hoffmeister, a native of Joplin, became just the sixth Lion to ever record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career at Southern. A three-time captain, Hoffmeister has been a four year starter for the Lions at outside hitter. She ranks second all-time at Southern in attack attempts and digs, while ranking seventh in kills and ninth in aces. A three-time member of the MIAA Commissioner s Academic Honor Roll, Hoffmeister is a Biology major at Southern and a member of the MSSU Honors Program.

Wright, a native of Everton, broke the Missouri Southern career record for block assists this season and finished with 349 in her four year career, breaking former Lion Ashley Mehrer s mark of 308. She finished her career with 1,033 kills and in fifth place in total blocks in her career. She has the second most block assists in a season with her 111 from a season ago and this season, Ashley led the Lions in hitting with a .273 mark, as well as blocks with 98. Her 54 digs were the second most this season in Division II, tops in the MIAA and rank sixth all-time in Division II for a five game match.
