Lions sweep Missouri S&T in Non-Conference Action

--  The Missouri Southern volleyball team hit .377 as a team and trailed just three times during the match, defeating Missouri S&T three sets to none today in Rolla. Individual set scores were 25-17, 25-17, and 25-19.

Southern (4-5) never trailed in the first set and took the lead after a Miner service error. A kill from Stephanie Williams made the score 10-6, and kill from Jeanna Feldman made the score 16-12. The Lions would go on a 9-5 run to end the set.

S&T (2-10) had the lead just three times in the match, once in the second set and twice in the third. Nineteen different players saw action in the match.

A kill from Feldman tied the third set tied the score at eight, while a kill from Ashley Hill gave Southern the lead for good.

Ameilia Judge hit .636 and had a team-high eight kills. Elin Skei had 28 assists with five digs, while Feldman had five kills and nine digs.

The Lions hit .409 in the first set and .480 in the second set, en route to a .377 attack percentage in the match. They had ten blocks in the match and limited the Miners to a .173 attack percentage.

Southern will be back in action this Wednesday, September 17 when the Lions open up MIAA play with a trip to Omaha to take on Nebraska-Omaha at 7 pm.
