Rheinecker and Feldmann named All-MIAA

Kansas City, Mo. -- Freshman outside hitter Renee Rheinecker was a third-team selection, while junior outside hitter Jeanna Feldmann was honorable mention as the 2009 All-MIAA Team was announced by the league office today in Kansas City.

Rheinecker (St. Jacob, Ill.-Triad HS) led the Lions this year with 3.13 kills per game. She hit .213, with over 100 digs and 47 blocks and 21 matches with double-digit kills. She ranked ninth in the MIAA in kills.

Feldmann (Washington, Mo.-St. Francis Borgia HS) finished just behind Rheinecker with 3.12 kills per game, while finishing second on the team with 2.10 digs per game. She had 23 matches with double-digit kills and nine double-doubles on the season. Her 24 kills against Central Oklahoma were the fourth most in a match this season.

Both players earned their first All-MIAA accolades this year.

Pittsburg State's Pamela Cartagena was the league's Player of the Year, while Truman's Megan Sharpe was the Freshman of the Year. Central Missouri's Flip Piontek was named the MIAA Coach of the Year.
