Southern tennis team collects 5-4 win over Cowley County CC
The Missouri Southern Lady Lion tennis team picked up its first dual win of the spring on Saturday with a 5-4 win over Cowley County Community College at the Millennium Tennis Club in Joplin.
Southern picked up victories at Nos. 2-4 singles and in Nos. 1-2 doubles.
Head coach Julie Wengert said the team looked good in its first dual of the season, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have room to improve. "We played well for our first match," she said. "This match definitely gave us some things to work on during practice."
