Southern Tennis Falls to Central Oklahoma, 6-3

In their second match of the day on Friday, the Lady Lions again braved cold temperatures but fell 6-3 to Central Oklahoma at Cameron University in Lawton, Okla.

Lacey McMunn figured in two of the Southern victories in the match. She won her No. 2 singles encounter 7-5, 6-2 and teamed with Sheryl Posch in No. 1 doubles to take an 8-4 win. Kim McMunn and Amy Stredney won the No. 2 doubles match, 8-6.

"The weather was definitely a factor for all of the players today," head coach Julie Wengert said. "The temperature for this morning's match was about 32 degrees. We did a lot of running and stretching in order to stay warm throughout the day. The temperature rose to about 38 degrees for the afternoon match and the girls thought it was warm!"

"Both teams we competed against today had a lot of depth. We really struggled in the morning against Cameron, but everyone came out really strong for the match against UCO. I'm very pleased with the way we performed in the afternoon."
