Tennis Lions go 1-1 at NSU Invitational
Lions drop Northwest Missouri, fall to Midwestern State

The Missouri Southern women’s tennis team improved to 7-6 overall and defeated conference opponent Northwest Missouri State on Friday at the Northeastern State Invitational in Tahlequah, Okla.
Southern opened play on Friday by suffering a 5-0 defeat at the hands of No. 32-ranked Midwestern State (Texas), but bounced back with a 5-3 victory over Northwest Missouri. The Lions took two of the three doubles matches from the Bearcats and came away winners at Nos. 3-5 singles. Senior Kim McMunn’s 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles cemented the victory in the four-hour dual with NWMSU.
Action continues on Saturday at the Invitational as the Lions meet Rockhurst in an 8:30 a.m. match.
