Tennis Lions down Rockhurst, fall to
Northwest
Lions suffer first MIAA loss to NWMSU
The Missouri Southern State University
women’s tennis team will take an 8-7 overall record,
including a 3-1 mark in the MIAA, into its matches this weekend
at Emporia State and Washburn.
On Saturday, Southern tripped Rockhurst 5-2
in the finale at the Northeastern State Invitational. On
Sunday, the Lions fell by a slim 5-4 count to Northwest
Missouri State, a team they defeated in Friday’s action
at NSU. The Sunday match with the Bearcats was the conference
matchup between the two teams this year.
This week’s schedule has the Lions at
Emporia State on Friday for a 3 p.m. match, followed by a noon
meeting at Washburn on Saturday.
