FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions sweep Nebraska-Kearney JOPLIN, Mo. -- Missouri Southern's women's tennis team opened its home schedule on Sunday with the University of Nebraska-Kearney. The Lions earned a 9-0 victory in the match. The Lions got the day started off with three victories in doubles play. Senior Barb Gombosi and sophomore Michelle Hall won 8-4 over McKenna Irvin and Nicole Raybalid of Nebraska-Kearney. Senior Kim McMunn and junior Kristen Meschede were 8-2 winners over Lima Parrado and Allie Erickson. The Lions won by default at No. 3 doubles. Nebraska-Kearney also gave up a default victory in No. 6 singles. Hall blanked Parrado at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0 and Gombosi posted a pair of 6-1, 6-1 victories over Irvin. Meschede, Kasey Adams and Ashton Lawrence also won in straight sets. The Lions are slated to return to action
