Lions fall at 18th ranked Drury

Box Score

Springfield, Mo.  -
The Missouri Southern tennis team looked strong in doubles competition today at 18th ranked Drury, but the Panthers singles players came up tough and Southern fell to Drury, 9-0 in Springfield at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

Southern (1-2) started doubles play by forcing the 21st ranked duo of Mouna Sabri/Khrystsina Tryboi to extra points, losing, however, 9-7 to the Drury pair.

Drury (5-0) picked up the second doubles match easily, but the Southern's Lauren Skimbo and Janelle Quesenbery fought tough and took the Panther's Thu Ha Mai/Lindsey Castrodale to the wire, eventually falling, 8-6.

Drury would kick into high gear, however, and they swept every singles match against the Lions to cruise to the win.

The Lions will be back in action this Monday, traveling to St. Louis to take on Missouri-St. Louis in a dual at 1 pm.
