Lions split in first two days of Spring Break Trip

The Missouri Southern women's tennis team split its first two matches in their spring break trip this week, losing 9-0 to Division I Liberty University, but rebounding to defeat Division III McMurry, 9-0 today.

Southern moves to 3-3 on the season after the two matches.

Against McMurry, Michelle Hall, Kati Anderson, Ashton Lawrence, Brittany Kockler, Lauren Skimbo and Janelle Quesenberry all won their singles matches. Hall won 6-0, 6-1, while Kockler won 6-1 and 6-0.

In doubles action against McMurry, Hall teamed up with Lawrence for the first time this season and defeated the team of Amy Torti and Rachel Smith 8-0. Kockler and Anderson won 8-3, while Brianna Tunnell and Alex Lewis won their match 8-6.

The Lions will be back in action tomorrow facing off with NAIA Hastings College at 9 am and then finish the week with a match against Florida Tech on Thursday at 3:30 pm.
