Lions shut out at 29th ranked Washburn, 8-0

Topeka, Kan - The Missouri Southern tennis team fell at 29th ranked Washburn University today, 8-0. Southern moves its overall record to 6-6 and 1-2 in the MIAA, while the Lady Blues are now 9-2 and 2-0 in league play.

The Lions dropped each of the three doubles matches with Michelle Hall and Ashton Lawrence, as well as Janelle Quesenberry and Lauren Skimbo falling 8-4, while Kati Andersen and Brittany Kockler fell 8-0.

Hall dropped her No. 1 singles match to 48th ranked Diana Goldsmith, 3-6 and 4-6. Quesenbery took a set off of Lauren Harris, winning 6-2 in the second set of No. 5 singles, but fell in the tiebreaker 10-9.

The Lions will be back in action next Wednesday, April 9, traveling to Southwest Baptist for a 4 pm start.
